AMA Citation Style
Health Nexus follows the American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style, 11th edition for all references. Authors are responsible for ensuring accuracy and consistency.
1. General Principles
- References are numbered in the order they appear in the text, using superscript Arabic numerals.
- Each reference number is used only once; repeated citations use the same number.
- List references numerically at the end of the manuscript.
- Abbreviate journal names according to National Library of Medicine (NLM) guidelines (PubMed Journals Database).
2. Journal Article
Format:

Format:

7. Figures and Tables Citation in Text
When citing figures/tables from other works, permission must be obtained, and the source cited in AMA style in the legend.
Quick Tips for Authors
- Use no periods in abbreviated journal titles.
- List up to 6 authors; if more, list the first 3 followed by et al.
- Ensure all URLs are active and include the accessed date.
- Always include the DOI if available.
