Section Policy

Dialogues & Interviews publishes interviews, conversations, edited lectures, roundtables, and reflective exchanges with musicians, scholars, educators, artists, and cultural practitioners whose work challenges, informs, or reimagines global understandings of music and sound. The section welcomes public-facing texts that document intellectual, artistic, or pedagogical dialogue, including lecture-based reflections addressing musical practice, career formation, pedagogy, and cross-disciplinary engagement. It offers a space for reflective exchange that bridges personal experience, creative practice, and critical inquiry.

Scope of Conversation

❝ Interviews with composers, performers, sound artists, producers, scholars, educators, or cultural practitioners

❝ Dialogues, conversations, roundtables, or edited exchanges across cultures, disciplines, and practices

❝ Edited lectures or lecture-based reflections on musical practice, career formation, pedagogy, or artistic development

❝ Reflections on creative process, teaching, fieldwork, public engagement, or cross-disciplinary collaboration

❝ Bilingual or multilingual exchanges that illuminate musical cultures, communities, and lived experience

Submission Requirements

Length 2,000–6,000 words

Language English preferred; multilingual accepted with translation/summary.
