Food Systems, Safety & Sustainability (FSSS) is published quarterly, with four issues released each year.

The journal’s regular publication schedule is as follows:

• Issue 1: March
• Issue 2: June
• Issue 3: September
• Issue 4: December

Each calendar year constitutes one volume, comprising four numbered issues. Articles are assigned to an issue after completion of peer review, editorial acceptance, copyediting, production, and final author approval.

Special issues or supplementary collections may be published in addition to the four regular issues where academically justified. Such publications are subject to the journal’s standard editorial, ethical, and peer-review requirements and do not replace the regular publication schedule.

The journal may adjust the publication date of an individual issue where necessary for editorial or production reasons. Any material change to the publication schedule will be announced on the journal website.
