From the Editors
JESA was established to provide a thoughtful venue for research that crosses traditional boundaries in engineering and the applied sciences. We value work that explains a meaningful problem, uses evidence carefully, and makes its contribution clear to both specialist and interdisciplinary readers.
What we look for
- A well-defined research question or practical problem
- Methods that are appropriate, transparent, and reproducible where possible
- Evidence and analysis that support the stated conclusions
- Clear writing, responsible reporting, and engagement with relevant literature
- Results with significance for engineering systems, scientific understanding, or practice
JESA welcomes original research, reviews, case studies, applications, interdisciplinary insights, and concise communications within the journal's aims and scope. Every submission is assessed on its scholarly merit rather than on a single metric or fashionable topic.
We are committed to fair double-blind peer review, constructive editorial decisions, and broad access to the published record under the CC BY-NC 4.0 licence.
