A complete GRHAS submission includes the declarations and documentation needed to assess authorship, research conduct and publication rights. Provide the statements below as applicable, and give an explicit declaration when there is no funding or competing interest.

Authorship, contributions and funding

Identify all authors, their affiliations and contributions. Confirm that everyone listed has approved the manuscript and its submission. Describe contributions through clear roles such as conception, investigation, interpretation, analysis, writing and supervision. Obtain permission from people named in acknowledgements.

List funding organisations and grant identifiers where applicable. Explain the funder’s role in the design, evidence collection, analysis, writing and submission decision. Identify financial or non-financial relationships relevant to the work in the competing-interest statement.

Ethics and consent

For research involving participants, identify the ethics committee, approval reference or basis for exemption. Explain recruitment, informed consent and confidentiality arrangements. Retain supporting documentation for editorial assessment.

Obtain consent to publish identifiable quotations, images, recordings or personal details. Describe permissions and community agreements for restricted archives, cultural objects or sensitive knowledge. Explain access restrictions that affect what can be shared.

Data, sources and materials

Include a data or source availability statement describing where the evidence can be found. Give repository identifiers, archive references or access instructions. When disclosure is restricted, identify the reason and the permitted route for access. State when the study generated no new dataset.

Supply permissions and credit lines for third-party material. Identify editions, translations, software and relevant versions. Provide supporting files in a form that protects participant privacy and preserves anonymity during review.

Publication history and AI assistance

Disclose preprints, thesis material, conference versions, translations and related manuscripts in the cover letter. Explain how the submission differs from earlier work and identify material that is reused.

Describe substantive generative AI assistance by naming the tool and explaining its function. Authors remain responsible for accuracy, citations and intellectual content. AI tools cannot be authors. Research using AI as a method should report the relevant procedures in enough detail for assessment.

Placement and updates

Supply identifying statements on the separate title page or privately in the system for double-anonymous review. Include complete declarations in the final manuscript before publication. Resolve discrepancies among files, author information and system metadata.

Update statements when circumstances change during review or production. The editor can request clarification or supporting records before proceeding with assessment.
