Publication sequence

Submissions undergo editorial screening and assessment appropriate to the article type. Authors complete revisions through the journal system. Accepted manuscripts proceed to production and proof review before publication.

The corresponding author coordinates final text, author details, declarations, permissions and proof corrections. Material changes after acceptance are referred to the editor.

The article page identifies the title, authors, publication date, issue, rights statement and full-text files, with a DOI where assigned. Use that page for the citation and current publication status.

Published volumes, issues and their dates are available in the Archives. A correction, expression of concern or retraction is linked to the affected article so readers can interpret the record accurately.
