Editorial responsibility

Scientific assessment is the responsibility of the journal’s editorial leadership and appointed handling editors. Editors select reviewers, assess the evidence and determine whether a manuscript is suitable for publication. Editorial decisions must be based on scientific merit, relevance, ethical acceptability and the reliability of the research, independently of publication charges or commercial considerations.

The Editorial Board page is the designated public record of editorial appointments. A person’s name or affiliation must not be listed without authorization. Editorial appointments should identify the role, institutional affiliation and country so that readers can assess the journal’s expertise and accountability.

Administrative responsibilities and funding

The HNCBT Editorial Office administers correspondence, submission records and publication queries. Publishing administration covers production, access to published content and fee enquiries. The standard APC is USD 350 per accepted article; the APCs page describes when this charge applies. Financial administration does not determine acceptance.

Conflicts and accountability

An editor with a competing interest must withdraw from handling the affected manuscript. Submissions involving an editor, board member or guest editor require independent handling and the same assessment standards as other submissions. Sponsorship or financial support connected to an article or special issue must be disclosed.

Questions about editorial administration or publishing arrangements can be sent through the Contact page. Complaints concerning editorial handling follow Complaints & Appeals.
