Waivers & Discounts
Requesting financial assistance
The standard APC is USD 350 per accepted article. Authors with limited research or institutional funding may request consideration for a full or partial waiver. Assistance is assessed individually; no automatic country-based entitlement or standing discount is advertised on this page.
Information to provide
- Identify the corresponding author, manuscript title or number and the proposed article type.
- Explain the financial constraint and the availability of institutional, funder or other publication support.
- State whether a full waiver or a partial reduction is requested.
- Disclose any relevant funding that may cover publication costs.
Send requests to the Editorial Office, preferably at submission and before payment is arranged. Do not include unnecessary personal financial records or confidential banking information. The office may ask for proportionate supporting information if it is needed to assess the request.
Decisions and confirmation
A request does not itself change the APC. Any approved waiver or discount must be confirmed in writing, with the applicable amount and manuscript identified. Authors should obtain clarification of unresolved financial arrangements before making a payment. Discounts are not cumulative unless explicitly stated.
Separation from editorial assessment
A waiver request, approval or refusal must not influence reviewer selection or the scientific decision. Financial assistance does not guarantee acceptance, and the same reporting and ethical standards apply to all submissions. Reviewers do not decide financial assistance. See APCs for the standard charge and payment procedure.
