Launch Announcement and Call for Papers

The Journal of Dance and Embodied Structure (JDES) is pleased to announce the opening of submissions for its forthcoming issues.

JDES is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to research on dance, embodied knowledge, movement structures, choreography, performance, and the cultural, spatial, technological, and theoretical dimensions of the moving body.

The journal approaches dance not only as an artistic practice, but also as a form of embodied knowledge, spatial organization, cultural expression, and structural inquiry. We welcome interdisciplinary scholarship that connects dance studies with performance studies, movement science, somatic studies, anthropology, cultural studies, aesthetics, philosophy, education, digital humanities, media studies, and related fields.

Article Types

JDES welcomes Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Practice-Based Research Articles, Methodological Notes, Performance and Choreographic Analyses, Book Reviews, Performance Reviews, Interviews, and Editorials.

Submission and Review

Submissions are subject to editorial screening and peer review in accordance with the journal's editorial and research integrity policies. Manuscripts should be prepared in English and should follow the journal's Author Guidelines and submission requirements.

Researchers, artists, choreographers, educators, practitioners, and interdisciplinary scholars working on dance, embodiment, movement, and performance are warmly invited to submit their work.
