Journal of Dance and Embodied Structure is an open-access journal. All articles published in the journal are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription barriers, registration requirements, or pay-per-view charges.

The journal supports the principle that free and unrestricted access to scholarly research promotes the global exchange of knowledge and contributes to the development of dance studies, embodied research, choreography, movement analysis, performance studies, artistic research, and related interdisciplinary fields.

1. Immediate Open Access

Journal of Dance and Embodied Structure provides immediate open access to all published content. Readers may access, read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and use the full text of published articles without requiring prior permission from the journal or publisher, provided that proper attribution is given to the original author(s) and source.

The journal does not apply an embargo period to published articles. Articles are openly available from the date of publication.

2. No Subscription Barriers

The journal does not charge readers or institutions for access to published content. No subscription, membership, login, or institutional access is required to read articles published by the journal.

All published articles are available through the journal’s official website and may be accessed by readers worldwide.

3. Licensing Policy

Unless otherwise stated, articles published in Journal of Dance and Embodied Structure are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, users are permitted to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

Proper attribution should include the author name(s), article title, journal title, publication year, volume and issue information where available, DOI or URL, and the applicable license.

7. Third-Party Materials

Some articles may include third-party materials, such as photographs, performance documentation, archival images, diagrams, artworks, screenshots, scores, notation examples, or other copyrighted materials. These materials may not always be covered by the article’s Creative Commons license.

Where third-party materials are included, authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions and providing appropriate credit. Readers who wish to reuse third-party materials should check the relevant captions, credit lines, rights statements, or source information and obtain permission from the rights holder where required.

8. Open Access and Article Processing Charges

The journal may charge an Article Processing Charge for accepted manuscripts to support open-access publication, editorial administration, peer review coordination, production, online hosting, metadata management, and long-term accessibility.

There is no submission fee. The Article Processing Charge is applied only after acceptance, where applicable. Payment of an Article Processing Charge does not influence editorial decisions, peer review outcomes, or publication judgments.

9. Archiving and Repository Deposit

Authors may deposit the published version of their article in institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, personal websites, academic networks, funder repositories, or other lawful platforms, provided that the article is properly cited and linked to the journal’s official version where possible.

The journal encourages responsible archiving and dissemination of published research to increase visibility, accessibility, and long-term scholarly use.

10. Long-Term Accessibility

13. Editorial Independence

Financial considerations, waiver status, institutional affiliation, nationality, personal background, or payment of publication charges do not determine acceptance or rejection.
