Publication record

JPOII is at its launch stage. The online archive currently contains no published issues. Article publication dates, issue designations and any subsequent updates will be recorded in the journal’s public publication records. The journal publishes one annual issue, formally released on 15 December each year. Accepted articles are published online on a rolling basis after completion of production and author proof checks, with their own publication dates; the annual issue brings together the year’s published articles.

The Archives and Current Issue pages provide the authoritative record of material published through this website. Details of verified database coverage and preservation arrangements are addressed separately under Abstracting & Indexing and Digital Preservation.

Editorial governance

The journal’s editorial policies establish responsibilities for authors, reviewers and editors, including the separation of scholarly decisions from publishing charges and external interests. Editorial appointments and affiliations belong on the Editorial Board page; publication of policy pages does not substitute for an accurate board record.

Questions about scope, manuscript preparation, ethical concerns or published material may be addressed to the Editorial Office. Include the manuscript identifier, where available, and the relevant page or article link.

Editorial review targets

Editorial stage Target timeframe
Initial editorial screening Within 7 working days of receipt of a complete submission
First decision following external peer review 6–8 weeks from receipt of a complete submission
Decision on a revised manuscript 2–4 weeks from receipt of a complete revision

These are editorial service targets, not measured performance statistics or guaranteed deadlines. Reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, additional review and research-integrity checks may extend assessment. The revision target excludes the time authors spend preparing their response. A first decision may request revision or decline the manuscript; it is not necessarily an acceptance decision. The journal does not promise a fixed submission-to-acceptance interval.
