PoliEcoM Administration Review is committed to maintaining a rigorous, fair, and timely editorial and peer review process. The journal follows a double-blind peer review model for scholarly manuscripts and seeks to provide authors with clear communication throughout the review process.

The timeline below is an estimate. Actual processing time may vary depending on manuscript quality, reviewer availability, revision complexity, ethical checks, editorial workload, and the responsiveness of authors and reviewers.

1. Standard Review Timeline

Technical Completeness Check Normally 3–5 business days after submission
Initial Editorial Screening Normally 7–10 business days after technical clearance
Reviewer Invitation and Assignment Normally 1–2 weeks, depending on reviewer availability
Double-Blind Peer Review Normally 4–8 weeks after reviewers accept the invitation
First Editorial Decision Approximately 6–10 weeks for manuscripts sent to external peer review
Author Revision Period Normally 2 weeks for minor revisions and 4 weeks for major revisions
Final Editorial Decision Normally 5–10 business days after revised submission, depending on review needs
Online Publication after Acceptance Normally 10–20 business days after final files and APC payment are completed

2. Estimated Overall Processing Time

Estimated time to first editorial decision: approximately 6–10 weeks for manuscripts sent to external peer review.

Estimated time from submission to acceptance: approximately 8–14 weeks for manuscripts accepted after peer review and revision.

Estimated time from submission to online publication: approximately 12–16 weeks for manuscripts accepted after peer review, revision, final production preparation, and completion of required publication procedures.

3. Timeline by Editorial Stage

Technical Completeness Check

The Editorial Office checks whether the submission files, metadata, title, abstract, keywords, Evidence for Practice, references, tables, figures, declarations, and anonymized manuscript file are complete. Manuscripts that do not meet basic technical requirements may be returned to authors before editorial screening.

Initial Editorial Screening

Manuscripts that pass the technical check are evaluated for fit with the journal’s aims and scope, originality, theoretical contribution, methodological readiness, ethical compliance, and overall suitability for external peer review. Manuscripts may be sent for peer review, returned for technical correction, or rejected without external review.

Reviewer Invitation and Assignment

The Editorial Office identifies and invites qualified reviewers with relevant expertise. This stage may take additional time when manuscripts address specialized topics, advanced methods, interdisciplinary questions, or emerging policy areas.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, evidence, clarity, ethical compliance, and policy or practice relevance. Reviewers are normally asked to complete their reports within 2–4 weeks after accepting the invitation, although the full review stage may take 4–8 weeks depending on reviewer availability and the number of reports required.

Editorial Decision

After reviewer reports are received, the assigned editor evaluates the reviews and makes or recommends an editorial decision. Possible decisions include accept without revisions, accept with minor revisions, major revisions required, or reject.

Revision and Final Evaluation

Authors invited to revise should submit a revised manuscript and a detailed response letter. Revised manuscripts may be assessed by the editor or returned to reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. A revision invitation does not guarantee acceptance.

Production and Online Publication

After acceptance, the manuscript enters production preparation. This may include final formatting, copyediting, metadata verification, author proof review, final file preparation, APC processing, and online publication.

4. Revision Deadlines

Minor Revision Normally due within 2 weeks from the decision notification
Major Revision Normally due within 4 weeks from the decision notification
Extension Request Authors should contact the Editorial Office before the deadline when an extension is needed

5. Factors That May Affect the Timeline

  • Incomplete submission files or inaccurate metadata
  • Failure to anonymize the manuscript for double-blind review
  • Missing abstract, keywords, Evidence for Practice, references, tables, figures, or declarations
  • Difficulty identifying available reviewers with appropriate expertise
  • Delayed reviewer responses or the need to invite additional reviewers
  • Substantial revision needs or incomplete author response letters
  • Ethical, authorship, data, disclosure, or plagiarism concerns requiring further review
  • Production delays caused by incomplete final files, proof corrections, or payment processing

6. Author Status Inquiries

Authors may contact the Editorial Office if the manuscript status has not changed after the estimated timeline for a given stage. To help the Editorial Office respond efficiently, authors should include the manuscript title, submission ID where available, corresponding author name, and date of submission.

Recommended inquiry timing: Authors may inquire after 10 business days for technical or initial editorial screening delays, or after 8 weeks when a manuscript is under external peer review.

Repeated inquiries during an active review stage may not accelerate the review process, as the journal must preserve editorial independence and reviewer confidentiality.

7. Editorial Independence

The journal does not guarantee acceptance, expedited acceptance, or publication within a fixed period. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, methodological quality, ethical compliance, relevance to the journal, reviewer evaluations, and editorial judgment. Payment of publication charges does not influence review speed, reviewer assessment, or editorial decisions.
