Global Governance Systems Review was established in 2026 to provide a dedicated publication venue for scholarship on governance systems, institutional arrangements, public administration, and public policy. Its founding focus is the relationship between the organization of authority and the ways institutions respond to collective problems.

Intellectual foundations

The journal brings together research traditions that often study related institutional questions from different perspectives. International relations examines cooperation and authority beyond the state; public administration studies organizational capacity and implementation; public policy considers the formation and consequences of public decisions; comparative politics, law, and political economy explain how institutions distribute resources and power. GGSR encourages work that makes these connections analytically explicit.
