GGSR considers requests for financial assistance separately from scholarly assessment. The standard APC is USD 350 per accepted article unless the Editorial Office has confirmed a waiver or discount in writing. Authors should raise funding constraints early so that the applicable arrangements can be clarified before invoicing.

Making a request

Contact [email protected], preferably at submission and before an invoice is issued. Identify the manuscript, corresponding author, and requested assistance. Explain the funding constraint and whether institutional, grant, or other publication support is available.

Helpful information includes the research funding situation, any institutional restriction on publication expenditure, and the reason existing support cannot meet the charge. The Editorial Office may request further relevant information. Send financial-support correspondence separately from the review manuscript; avoid supplying sensitive personal financial documents unless they are specifically required through an appropriate channel.

Confirmation and scope

Requests are considered individually. An enquiry, affiliation, invitation, or special-issue submission does not automatically establish eligibility. A confirmed reduction identifies the manuscript and the applicable amount or terms. Authors should retain that confirmation and check that the invoice reflects it.

A reduction confirmed for one manuscript should not be assumed to apply to another submission. If the manuscript or payment arrangements change materially, contact the Editorial Office before making an adjusted payment. Do not deduct an unconfirmed amount from an invoice or rely on an informal statement from an individual reviewer.

Independent assessment

A request for assistance does not guarantee external review or publication. Editors and reviewers evaluate the same contribution, evidence, and ethical requirements for all manuscripts. Reviewers should not receive the author’s financial-support correspondence as part of their scholarly assessment.

Before acceptance and payment

If funding circumstances change during review, update the Editorial Office before the invoice is issued. Authors arranging payment through a funder or institution should confirm that organization’s requirements. For the standard charge, invoicing stage, and refund provisions, see APCs.
