Contemporary Review of Political Thought (CRoPT) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing rigorous scholarship in political thought, political philosophy, intellectual history, Marxist theory, ideological and political education, higher education governance, and the normative foundations of modern public life.

The journal publishes research on the historical formation, circulation, translation, reception, and transformation of political concepts and intellectual traditions. It is particularly interested in studies that connect close textual interpretation with broader social, cultural, linguistic, and institutional contexts, including intellectual exchanges across regions and historical periods.

Marxism and Contemporary Society / 马克思主义与当代社会
The journal welcomes critical scholarship on Marxist theory, Marxist political thought, historical materialism, political economy, ideology, class, social critique, and the development and reception of Marxist intellectual traditions. It also encourages theoretically grounded examinations of the relevance, reinterpretation, and contestation of Marxist ideas in relation to modern society, state power, education, culture, and public life.

The journal accepts research on ideological and political education, civic education, moral education, public values, political socialization, and the relationship between education and political life. Particular attention is given to the ways educational ideas, institutions, and practices shape citizenship, public responsibility, collective identity, and understandings of political and social values.

Higher Education Governance and Teaching / 高等教育治理与教学
The journal welcomes studies of higher education governance, university administration, educational institutions, teaching reform, curriculum development, academic values, and faculty development. Such contributions should establish a substantive connection to political thought, institutional legitimacy, citizenship, public values, educational philosophy, or the normative dimensions of higher education. Research focused solely on administrative efficiency or instructional techniques, without a clear connection to these concerns, falls outside the journal's primary scope.
本刊欢迎关于高等教育治理、大学行政、教育制度、教学改革、课程建设、学术价值及教师发展的研究。相关成果应与政治思想、制度正当性、公民身份、公共价值、教育哲学或高等教育的规范性问题建立实质性联系。若研究仅关注行政效率或教学技术，而未能与上述议题形成明确的学术联系，则不属于本刊的主要收稿范围。
Modernity, Public Life, and Social Transformation / 现代性、公共生活与社会转型
The journal is interested in studies of modernity, secularization, nationalism, globalization, the public sphere, civil society, social movements, technological change, and the transformation of political imagination in contemporary societies. Contributions are encouraged to investigate how changing social conditions reshape political concepts, normative expectations, collective identities, and understandings of public life.

CRoPT welcomes scholarly contributions that identify a clear research question, theoretical issue, or interpretive problem; engage appropriately with relevant literature and sources; and demonstrate a meaningful contribution to existing academic debates.
CRoPT 欢迎具有明确研究问题、理论议题或阐释对象的学术成果。来稿应充分回应相关研究文献与资料，并体现对既有学术讨论的实质性贡献。

Authors submitting manuscripts in Chinese are encouraged to provide an English title, abstract, and keywords to facilitate international discoverability and academic communication. For English-language submissions, Chinese titles, abstracts, and keywords may be supplied where appropriate.

It welcomes diverse and critically engaged perspectives, provided that submissions demonstrate academic rigor, argumentative clarity, appropriate research ethics, and respect for reasoned intellectual debate.
