Contemporary Review of Political Thought requires authors to use a clear, consistent, and complete reference style throughout the manuscript. The journal follows the PSG Author–Date Citation Format, the official citation format of Panorama Scholarly Group.

PSG Format uses an author–date citation structure and is designed for humanities and social sciences scholarship. It provides specific rules for in-text citations, reference-list entries, DOI normalization, multilingual references, datasets, software, artificial intelligence tools, and reference integrity.

PSG 格式采用作者—日期制引用结构，适用于人文社会科学研究，并对正文引用、参考文献条目、DOI 标准化、多语言文献、数据集、软件、人工智能工具以及参考文献完整性作出专门规范。

General Principle｜基本原则

Authors should ensure that every source cited in the manuscript is included in the reference list, and every item listed in the reference list is cited in the manuscript.

作者应确保稿件正文中引用的所有文献均列入参考文献表；参考文献表中的所有条目也应在正文中被实际引用。

References must be accurate, complete, and consistent. Authors are responsible for checking author names, publication years, titles, journal titles, volume and issue numbers, page ranges or article numbers, publishers, URLs, DOI links, and multilingual source information.

参考文献信息必须准确、完整并保持一致。作者应自行核对作者姓名、出版年份、文献题名、期刊名称、卷期号、页码范围或文章编号、出版社、网址、DOI 链接以及多语言文献信息。

The editorial office may return manuscripts for correction if references are incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, or not formatted according to PSG Format.

如参考文献存在信息缺失、内容错误、格式不统一，或未按照 PSG 格式编排，编辑部可要求作者在同行评审、录用或出版前进行修改。

PSG Author–Date System｜PSG 作者—日期制

PSG Format uses an author–date citation system. Sources should normally be cited in the main text using the author’s surname or organizational author name, followed by the year of publication. Page numbers or other locators should be included when quoting directly or referring to a specific passage.

PSG 格式采用作者—日期制。正文引用通常应标明作者姓氏或机构作者名称及出版年份；直接引用或指向具体段落、页码时，应补充页码或其他定位信息。

Multiple Sources｜多个来源

When citing multiple sources in the same parentheses, authors should separate entries with semicolons.

同一括号中引用多个来源时，作者应使用分号分隔不同文献。

Example: Political legitimacy has been discussed from institutional, normative, and historical perspectives (Rawls 1993; Skinner 1988; Taylor 1992).

Direct Quotations｜直接引文

Direct quotations must include page numbers or other precise locators whenever available.

Reference List｜参考文献表

The reference list should appear at the end of the manuscript. Entries should be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author or by the name of the organizational author. Each entry should provide sufficient information for readers, editors, and indexing services to identify and retrieve the source.

参考文献表应置于稿件末尾。文献条目应按照第一作者姓氏或机构作者名称的字母顺序排列。每条文献应提供足够信息，以便读者、编辑与数据库服务识别和检索来源。

Authors should use consistent punctuation, capitalization, italicization, DOI format, URL format, and multilingual information throughout the reference list.

Online sources should include the author, year, title, website name, publication or modification date where available, and URL. If no individual author is available, the organization responsible for the website may be used as the author.

Reports and policy documents should identify the organizational author, year, title, publisher or issuing body, report number where applicable, and URL or DOI where available.

Datasets used in a manuscript should be cited in the reference list when they are central to the research. Authors should include the creator, year, dataset title, version where available, repository or publisher, and DOI or URL.

Artificial Intelligence Tools｜人工智能工具

When artificial intelligence tools are used substantively in manuscript preparation, data analysis, image generation, translation, coding, or language editing, authors should disclose such use in the manuscript according to the journal’s AI Use Policy. Where appropriate, AI tools may also be cited in the reference list.

如作者在稿件准备、数据分析、图像生成、翻译、代码编写或语言润色过程中实质性使用人工智能工具，应根据本刊人工智能使用政策进行披露。必要时，人工智能工具也可列入参考文献表。

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts.

Chinese-Language References｜中文文献

Chinese-language references may be listed in their original Chinese form. Authors should ensure consistency in author names, publication years, titles, punctuation, publication information, page numbers, and DOI or URL information.

中文文献可按中文原文列出。作者应确保作者姓名、出版年份、文献题名、标点、出版信息、页码以及 DOI 或 URL 信息前后一致。

For English-language manuscripts, authors are encouraged to provide transliteration or English translation of Chinese titles where appropriate, especially when such information may support international indexing and discoverability.

对于英文稿件，作者可根据需要为中文文献提供拼音转写或英文译名，尤其是在有助于国际检索与数据库识别的情况下。

When translated titles are provided, authors should make clear that the translation is supplied for reference purposes.

如提供英文译名，作者应确保译名准确，并明确其用于参考与检索目的。

DOI and URL｜DOI 与网址

Authors should provide DOI information for journal articles, datasets, reports, and other sources whenever available. DOI links should be presented in complete and functional URL format beginning with “https://doi.org/”.

如期刊论文、数据集、报告或其他资料具有 DOI，作者应尽量提供 DOI 信息。DOI 应采用完整且可访问的 URL 形式，并以 “https://doi.org/” 开头。

URLs should be provided for online sources when no DOI is available. Authors should avoid unstable, excessively long, or session-based URLs where possible.

Access dates are usually not required unless the source is likely to change over time or no publication date is available.

Footnotes｜脚注

Footnotes may be used for brief explanatory comments, clarifications, or supplementary discussion. PSG Format uses author–date citation as the main reference system; therefore, footnotes should not normally be used as the primary citation method.

Authors should avoid excessive or unnecessary footnotes. Footnotes should not be used to include large amounts of material that should appear in the main text.

Repeated Citations｜重复引用

Repeated citations should follow the same author–date form used elsewhere in the manuscript. Authors should not use unclear abbreviations or outdated citation forms that may cause confusion for international readers.

Reference Accuracy｜文献准确性

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all references. The editorial office may request corrections before peer review, acceptance, or publication if references are incomplete, inconsistent, inaccurate, or difficult to verify.

作者须对所有参考文献信息的准确性与完整性负责。如参考文献存在缺项、格式混乱、信息错误或难以核验，编辑部可在同行评审、录用或出版前要求作者修正。

Where available, authors should verify references through DOI records, publisher websites, library catalogues, official databases, or other reliable bibliographic sources.

如条件允许，作者应通过 DOI 记录、出版社网页、图书馆目录、官方数据库或其他可靠书目来源核验参考文献。

Consistency Requirement｜格式一致性要求

Authors should not mix different citation styles within the same manuscript. Manuscripts submitted to the journal should consistently follow PSG Author–Date Citation Format unless the editorial office grants an exception for a specific reason.

作者不应在同一篇稿件中混用多种引用格式。投稿至本刊的稿件应统一采用 PSG 作者—日期引用格式，除非编辑部基于特定原因同意例外处理。

Manuscripts with inconsistent, incomplete, or noncompliant reference formatting may be returned to authors for correction before peer review, acceptance, or production.
