Contemporary Review of Political Thought

Book Reviews is a dedicated section of Contemporary Review of Political Thought. This section publishes critical reviews of recently published books and significant scholarly works in political thought, political philosophy, intellectual history, Marxist theory, ideological and political education, higher education governance, and modern public life.

“书评与评论”是《当代政治思想评论》的专门栏目。本栏目刊发关于政治思想、政治哲学、智识史、马克思主义理论、思想政治教育、高等教育治理与现代公共生活等领域新近出版著作及重要学术成果的批判性评论。

The section aims to promote serious scholarly engagement with new publications, major debates, and important intellectual developments. Book reviews should not merely summarize the content of a book, but should evaluate its argument, methodology, contribution, limitations, and relevance to ongoing academic discussions.

本栏目旨在推动学界对新近出版物、重要争论与思想发展动态的严肃回应。书评不应仅停留于内容摘要，而应对著作的论点、方法、贡献、局限及其与既有学术讨论的关系作出分析与评价。

Book Review Format｜书评格式

A standard book review should identify the book’s main argument, explain its scholarly context, assess its contribution, and discuss its strengths and limitations. Reviews should be analytical rather than purely descriptive.

标准书评应说明所评著作的核心论点、学术背景、主要贡献及其优点与局限。书评应具有分析性，而不应只是对章节内容的简单概述。

Review essays may discuss one or more books in relation to a broader theoretical question, research field, intellectual tradition, or current academic debate. Such essays should develop a clear argument and make an independent scholarly contribution.

Submissions to this section should maintain a scholarly, fair, and critical tone. Reviews should avoid promotional writing, personal attacks, unsupported claims, or purely subjective impressions. Critical evaluation is welcome, but it should be grounded in careful reading, clear reasoning, and respectful academic discussion.
