Definition of Conflict of Interest|

A conflict of interest exists when personal, financial, institutional, academic, political, professional, competitive, or other relationships may compromise, or reasonably be perceived to compromise, the objectivity, independence, fairness, or integrity of the publication process.

The existence of a conflict of interest does not necessarily imply misconduct. However, undisclosed conflicts of interest may undermine trust in the research, peer-review process, editorial decision-making, and published record.

Editor Responsibilities|

Editors must disclose any conflict of interest that may affect their ability to handle a manuscript fairly and independently. Editors should not manage submissions where they have a financial, personal, institutional, academic, supervisory, collaborative, competitive, or other relevant conflict with the authors or the subject matter.

If a conflict of interest is identified, the manuscript should be reassigned to another editor or handled through an alternative editorial arrangement to ensure impartial evaluation.

Reviewer Responsibilities|

Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest before accepting a review invitation. If a conflict exists, reviewers should decline the invitation or inform the editorial office immediately.

Reviewers should not evaluate manuscripts where they have a recent collaboration, close personal relationship, direct academic competition, supervisory relationship, institutional connection, financial interest, or other relationship that may affect impartial judgment.

Reviewers must not use unpublished materials obtained through peer review for personal, professional, academic, financial, or competitive advantage.

Editorial Board Members|

Editorial board members are expected to follow the same conflict of interest standards as editors and reviewers. When editorial board members submit manuscripts to the journal, their submissions must be handled through an independent editorial process.

Editorial board membership does not guarantee acceptance, preferential treatment, accelerated review, or exemption from peer review where peer review is required.

Publisher Responsibilities|

The publisher supports editorial independence and does not interfere with editorial decisions based on academic assessment, peer review, ethical compliance, and journal policy.

Handling Undisclosed Conflicts|

If an undisclosed conflict of interest is identified before publication, the editorial office may request clarification, require a revised disclosure statement, reassign editors or reviewers, repeat parts of the review process, delay publication, or reject the manuscript.

If an undisclosed conflict of interest is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, disclosure notice, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate publication notice depending on the seriousness of the case.

Managing Conflicts During Review|

When a conflict of interest is reported or suspected during peer review, the editorial office will assess whether the conflict affects the integrity or impartiality of the review process.

The editorial office may remove a reviewer, invite additional reviewers, exclude compromised reports, reassign the manuscript to another editor, or take other measures necessary to protect the integrity of the review process.

Disclosure in Published Articles|

A conflict of interest disclosure does not necessarily prevent publication, provided that the conflict is transparent and does not compromise the integrity of the work or the editorial process.

Confidentiality|

Information disclosed during conflict of interest assessment will be handled with appropriate confidentiality. Such information will be used only for editorial, ethical, or publication integrity purposes unless disclosure is required by law or formal investigation.

Appeals and Complaints|

Authors, reviewers, readers, editors, or other parties may raise concerns about undisclosed or improperly managed conflicts of interest. Concerns should be submitted to the editorial office with clear details and supporting evidence where available.

The editorial office will review such concerns in a fair and responsible manner and may take appropriate action where necessary.

Final Responsibility|

All parties involved in the publication process are responsible for disclosing relevant conflicts of interest honestly and promptly. The editorial office reserves the right to take appropriate action when conflicts of interest are not disclosed, are misleadingly disclosed, or are found to compromise the integrity of the publication process.

Policy Updates|

The journal may update this Conflict of Interest Policy when necessary to reflect changes in editorial practice, publication ethics standards, legal requirements, or research integrity expectations.
