5. Backup and File Management /
JLPCS seeks to maintain backup practices for published content, article metadata, journal files, and policy information to reduce the risk of accidental loss, platform disruption, or file corruption.
Backup and file management practices may include:
- Maintaining copies of final published article files;
- Maintaining records of article metadata, issue metadata, and publication dates;
- Retaining copies of post-publication notices and corrected files where applicable;
- Maintaining administrative records necessary for publication verification;
- Using secure platform-level or server-level backup procedures;
- Reviewing file availability and replacing corrupted or inaccessible files when identified;
- Restricting unauthorized modification of published files and article records.
6. Metadata Preservation /
Metadata preservation supports article discovery, citation, indexing, and long-term verification of the scholarly record. JLPCS aims to maintain complete and accurate metadata for published content.
Metadata may include:
- Article title, subtitle, abstract, keywords, and article type;
- Author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, corresponding author information, and contribution information where available;
- Publication date, volume, issue, article number, page information, and DOI where assigned;

- License, copyright notice, article version, and post-publication status;
- Links to corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, supplementary files, and related materials.
7. DOI and Persistent Identification / DOI
Where DOI registration is provided, JLPCS maintains article-level DOI and metadata records to support stable citation, article identification, and long-term discoverability.
- DOI records should point to the official article landing page where applicable;
- Metadata should be updated when corrections, retractions, or other publication status changes occur;
- Article citation information should remain consistent across article pages, PDFs, metadata deposits, and issue records;
- Broken DOI links, metadata errors, or article record inconsistencies may be corrected when identified;
- Authors and readers may report metadata or DOI issues to the editorial office.
8. Supplementary Materials /
Supplementary materials published with an article may form part of the scholarly record. JLPCS seeks to preserve supplementary files when they are accepted for publication and made available through the journal platform.
Supplementary materials may include:
- Appendices, additional tables, figures, charts, and methodological notes;
- Datasets, codebooks, coding schemes, survey instruments, interview protocols, or analysis scripts;
- Legal source lists, policy documents, source selection tables, or comparative materials;
- Data availability documents, ethics documentation summaries, or reproducibility files where appropriate;
- Correction files or replacement supplementary files issued after publication.
9. Post-Publication Notices /
Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, editorial notes, and other post-publication notices are part of the scholarly record and should remain linked to the affected article wherever possible.
- Correction notices should identify the article and explain the correction;
- Retraction notices should remain visible and linked to the retracted article where technically possible;
- Expressions of concern should remain linked while concerns are unresolved;
- Article files and metadata may be updated to show corrected or retracted status;
- Post-publication notices should not be removed merely because they are unfavorable;
- Access restriction may be considered only for legal, privacy, safety, or court-related reasons.
10. Continuity Plan /
JLPCS aims to maintain reasonable continuity of access to published content. If technical, organizational, or publishing changes affect the journal platform, JLPCS will seek to preserve access to the published record through appropriate content migration, backup restoration, metadata maintenance, or alternative access arrangements.
Continuity measures may include:
- Maintaining copies of final published article files and metadata;
- Migrating article records to an updated journal platform if necessary;
- Maintaining DOI and article landing-page redirection where technically possible;
- Preserving issue-level tables of contents and article lists;
- Maintaining access to correction, retraction, and expression-of-concern notices;
- Providing alternative access instructions if the journal platform is temporarily unavailable;
- Communicating major platform or preservation changes through the journal website where appropriate.
11. Third-Party Preservation Services /
JLPCS may consider participation in recognized third-party digital preservation services, repository systems, institutional archiving arrangements, or preservation networks as the journal develops.
- Potential arrangements may include trusted digital repositories, national or institutional archives, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Portico, PKP Preservation Network, or other appropriate preservation services;
- Any active third-party archiving or preservation arrangement will be listed on this page when formally implemented;
- No service should be interpreted as active unless it is expressly named as active on this page or in an official preservation notice;
- JLPCS will avoid claiming indexing, archiving, or preservation participation that has not been confirmed;
- Future preservation arrangements may depend on technical compatibility, eligibility, cost, journal development, and publisher policy.
12. Current Preservation Status /
13. Version Control and Record Changes /
JLPCS seeks to maintain a transparent record of significant changes to published content. Formal corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or editorial notes should be used when changes affect the scholarly record.
- Minor technical corrections may be made when they do not affect meaning, authorship, data, results, conclusions, or citation;
- Substantive changes should normally be documented through a formal correction or editorial notice;
- Article files may be replaced, labelled, or supplemented where necessary to reflect corrected or retracted status;
- Metadata should be updated when publication status changes;
- Older records should not be silently removed when they are necessary to understand the publication history;
- Authors and readers may report version inconsistencies to the editorial office.
14. Author and Reader Responsibilities /
Authors, readers, libraries, repositories, and indexing services can support digital preservation by using correct citation information, reporting broken links, and respecting version status.
- Authors should cite and share the official published version of record;
- Authors should update preprint, working paper, institutional, or personal pages with the official JLPCS citation where possible;
- Readers should cite DOI, article title, journal title, year, volume, issue, and article page where available;
- Readers may report broken links, missing PDFs, incorrect metadata, or file access problems;
- Repositories should preserve article metadata, license information, and links to the official published version;
- Users should not redistribute outdated or retracted versions without clearly identifying their publication status.
15. What This Page Does Not Claim /
This policy is intended to describe JLPCS's preservation commitments and planning. It should not be read as a claim of current participation in any specific external archiving service, indexing database, repository, or preservation network unless that participation is expressly listed as active.
- This page does not claim current inclusion in LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Portico, PubMed Central, Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, or any other third-party service unless separately confirmed;
