The Journal of Law, Psychology, and Communication Studies (JLPCS) supports accurate article identification, citation stability, discoverability, and long-term scholarly record management through DOI assignment where applicable and careful metadata maintenance.
1. Purpose of the Policy /
This policy explains how JLPCS manages DOI information, article-level metadata, issue-level metadata, citation records, author identifiers, licensing metadata, publication dates, and post-publication metadata updates.
The purpose is to support accurate citation, stable article identification, indexing readiness, digital preservation, discoverability, research verification, and transparency of the scholarly record.
2. DOI Assignment / DOI 配置
JLPCS aims to assign or maintain Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for published articles where DOI registration is applicable and technically supported. DOI records help identify the published version of record and support stable citation and discovery.
- DOIs are normally associated with final published articles;
- DOI information should appear on the article landing page and, where applicable, in the article PDF or article file;
- DOI records should resolve to the official JLPCS article page or other approved landing page;
- DOI metadata should be updated when article status, title, author information, issue information, or publication notices change;
- DOI assignment does not imply acceptance into any specific indexing database unless separately confirmed by that database;
- Authors and readers may report DOI errors, broken DOI links, or metadata inconsistencies to the editorial office.
3. Article-Level Metadata /
JLPCS maintains article-level metadata to support discovery, citation, indexing workflows, preservation, and scholarly verification.
Article-level metadata may include:
- Article title, subtitle, abstract, keywords, article type, and language;
- Author names, affiliations, country or region information, ORCID iDs, and corresponding author information where available;
- Journal title, ISSN, publisher, publishing unit, volume, issue, year, article number, page range, and publication date;
- DOI, article URL, citation formats, and references;
- Funding statement, conflict of interest statement, ethics statement, informed consent statement, data availability statement, and AI use statement where applicable;
- Copyright notice, open access license, and reuse information;
- Supplementary files, datasets, code files, appendices, and related materials where published;
- Correction, retraction, expression of concern, or editorial notice status where applicable.

5. Metadata Quality Standards /
JLPCS seeks to ensure that metadata are accurate, complete, consistent, machine-readable where supported, and aligned across article pages, PDFs, issue records, DOI records, and journal policy pages.
Metadata should be:
- Accurate: names, titles, dates, issue numbers, DOIs, and references should be correct;
- Complete: essential bibliographic, licensing, ethical, and publication information should be included;
- Consistent: metadata should match across the article page, PDF, citation formats, issue records, and DOI records;
- Persistent: article records should remain accessible and stable over time where possible;
- Transparent: corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and metadata changes should be visible where relevant;
- Interoperable: metadata should support discovery by search engines, libraries, repositories, and indexing systems where technically supported.

- Corresponding author information should be accurate and kept current during review and production;
- Name order, capitalization, spelling, transliteration, and Chinese-English name presentation should be checked carefully at proof stage;
- Authorship changes after submission or publication must follow the JLPCS authorship policy;
- Post-publication author metadata corrections may require written confirmation from affected authors.
7. Citation Metadata /
Citation metadata support accurate referencing and reuse of JLPCS articles. JLPCS aims to provide clear citation information for published articles.
Citation metadata should normally include:
- Author name(s);
- Publication year;
- Article title;
- Journal title: Journal of Law, Psychology, and Communication Studies;
- Volume, issue, page range or article number where available;
- DOI or stable article link where available;
- License and copyright information where relevant.

9. License and Copyright Metadata /
License and copyright metadata help users understand how published articles may be accessed, shared, cited, reused, translated, or adapted.
- Published articles should identify the copyright holder or copyright arrangement;
- The applicable open access license should be stated clearly;
- Third-party materials should be identified where they are subject to separate copyright or permission restrictions;
- Article pages and files should provide sufficient reuse information for readers and repositories;
- License metadata should be consistent with the Open Access Policy and Copyright & Licensing Policy.
10. Metadata Updates After Publication /
JLPCS may update metadata after publication when errors, omissions, corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, author information changes, DOI issues, or publication record problems are identified.
Metadata updates may involve:
- Correcting title, abstract, keyword, author name, affiliation, ORCID, or correspondence information;
- Correcting volume, issue, page, article number, publication date, or DOI information;
